Directed by Arvindh Srinivasan, who gained recognition for his 2022 film Dejavu, Tharunam marks his second directorial project after the success of his debut film starring Arulnithi.

The makers of Tharunam, starring Kishen Das and Smruthi Venkat, have officially announced the release window for the highly anticipated film. Scheduled for a theatrical release during Pongal 2025, the movie promises to be a romantic-action drama that will captivate audiences across multiple languages.

Directed by Arvindh Srinivasan, who gained recognition for his 2022 film Dejavu, Tharunam marks his second directorial project after the success of his debut film starring Arulnithi. The film’s teaser, released earlier this year, teased a story of love with elements of action, revolving around the journey of two characters who meet for the first time and navigate their challenges together. In a previous interview, Srinivasan shared that the film explores the emotional depth of the characters as they fall in love and tackle the obstacles life throws at them.

Produced by Pugazh and Eden under Zhen Studios, Tharunam features an ensemble cast that includes Raj Ayyappa and Bala Saravanan. The film has a strong technical team behind it, with music composed by Darbuka Siva, cinematography by Raja Bhattacharjee, and editing by Arul Elango Siddharth. Action sequences are handled by stunt choreographers Don Ashok and C Prabhu.

In addition to its Tamil release, Tharunam will also hit theaters in Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, broadening its appeal to a pan-Indian audience. The film wrapped production in December 2023, and its upcoming release during the festive season of Pongal 2025 has generated excitement among fans.
