She revealed that in the first draft of the screenplay, Shah Rukh Khan's character, Amar, was supposed to survive the climax. However, the final version, which became iconic, featured both Amar and Moina (played by Koirala) dying together in an emotional and tragic end.

Manisha explained, "In the original script, we had agreed on a version where the cause was larger. Moina was always going to mutilate herself, and while in the final version, Amar also dies with her, the original version had him letting her die alone." This revelation provides a new perspective on the film's emotional core, highlighting how the ending evolved during production.
