Nayanthara, who recently appeared in the blockbuster film Jawan, is eagerly anticipating the release of her upcoming movie Test. Directed by producer Sashikanth, this sports drama marks his directorial debut and features a notable cast, including Madhavan, Siddharth, Meera Jasmine, and Kaali Venkat. The screenplay is penned by Suman Kumar, with music composed by the debutant Shaktisree, who is also making her mark as a music composer in the industry.
The shooting for Test has been completed, and it was initially reported that the film would hit theaters later this year. However, recent speculation from Glitz suggests that the film might forgo its theatrical release in favor of a direct OTT premiere. As of now, official confirmation regarding this news is still awaited.
This development comes alongside rumors that Kamal Haasan's highly anticipated Indian 3, originally slated for a theatrical release in January 2025, may also transition to an OTT platform depending on the performance of its prequel, Indian 2, which was released earlier this year. Directed by Shankar, Indian 2 is a vigilante action thriller that serves as a sequel to the iconic 1996 film Indian.
On her work front, Nayanthara is busy with multiple projects, including Manangattin Since 1960 and A Good Student, both currently in various stages of production. She has also signed on for Mookuthi Amman 2, the sequel to her successful film with RJ Balaji, which will be helmed by director Sundar C. Additionally, Nayanthara is set to star in a yet-to-be-titled film alongside Kavin, directed by Vishnu Edavan.
