On Sunday, Nithya Menen announced her involvement in Idli Kadai, Dhanush's fourth directorial, via Instagram, sharing a photo of them holding tea glasses. This project marks their second collaboration after Thiruchitrambalam, for which Nithya recently won a National Award.
Idli Kadai is Dhanush’s latest directorial after Pa Paandi, Raayan, and the yet-to-be-released Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam. Music will be composed by GV Prakash Kumar, who has worked with Dhanush on projects like Vaathi, Captain Miller, and Nilavukku En Mel Ennadi Kobam.
Produced by Aakash Baskaran and Dhanush, with Sreyas Srinivasan as executive producer, Idli Kadai is backed by Dawn Pictures, Red Giant Movies, and Wunderbar Films. The technical team includes Kiran Koushik as DOP, Prasanna GK as editor, and Jacki as production designer. Though the full cast hasn’t been revealed yet, Rajkiran is expected to feature in the film.
Nithya is currently working on Kadhalikka Neramillai, Dear Exes, and an untitled project with Vijay Sethupathi. Dhanush’s upcoming projects include Kubera, Tere Ishk Mein, Maestro, and another film with Mari Selvaraj.
