Prakash Raj is the latest addition to the star-studded cast of Thalapathy 69, marking his sixth collaboration with Vijay. Directed by H Vinoth, the film is shaping up to be Vijay's final project before his expected entry into politics. Over the past few days, the makers have revealed several prominent names in the cast, including Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani, and Narain.
Prakash Raj and Vijay have previously worked together in films like Ghilli (2004), Sivakasi (2005), Pokkiri (2007), Villu (2009), and Varisu (2023). The political undertones of Thalapathy 69 were hinted at by a poster release featuring the tagline "The torch bearer of democracy," suggesting a potential political theme in the storyline.
On the technical side, Anirudh Ravichander will handle the music composition, while Venkat K Narayana of KVN Productions is producing the film, with Jagadish Palanisamy and Lohith NK as co-producers. More technical crew announcements are expected soon. The film is scheduled for an October 2025 release, and Vijay’s recent film, The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), directed by Venkat Prabhu, is currently streaming on Netflix.
