Superstar Rajinikanth has been discharged from the hospital and is recovering at his Poes Garden residence after undergoing a successful cardiac procedure. The actor was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai on September 30, following a pre-scheduled consultation with his doctors. This procedure, which involved treating a swelling in the aorta, was carried out using a non-surgical transcatheter method. Rajinikanth wasn’t admitted due to sudden discomfort but as part of a planned medical check-up.
The procedure was performed by a team of renowned doctors, including Dr. Sai Sathish, Dr. Vijay Chandar, and Dr. Balaji. The actor was discharged on October 3, 2024, at around 11 pm and is reported to be recuperating well. Rajinikanth had just completed filming for director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie in Vizag prior to his hospital visit.
In response to the news, several prominent figures sent their best wishes to the actor. Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally called Rajinikanth’s wife, Latha, to check on his health and wished him a speedy recovery. Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai shared the news on social media, stating that the Prime Minister had been informed about Rajinikanth’s well-being post-surgery. Other actors, including Kamal Haasan and Vijay, also expressed their get-well-soon messages to the superstar.
Rajinikanth’s fans are eagerly awaiting his upcoming release Vettaiyan, which is set to hit theaters soon.
