During the audio launch of Amaran, Rajkumar Periasamy discussed his extensive journey in creating the upcoming film, which stars Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi. This marks Periasamy's second directorial venture following his work on Rangoon in 2017. He revealed that he dedicated five years to the project, emphasizing the significant amount of research involved in bringing the story of Major Mukund Varadarajan to life.

Periasamy articulated that Amaran is intended to be a Diwali celebration, honoring the real-life hero upon whom the film is based. He stated, "Everyone will think we have worked very hard to make this film. But we are all privileged to be here. A family here lost an asset. He is the one who has worked hard." This poignant reflection highlights the film's emotional depth and its commitment to portraying a significant figure.

The director also expressed his appreciation for producer Thanu, who attended the event. Periasamy shared his history with Thanu, recalling his time as an assistant director on Thanu's Thuppakki (2012), directed by AR Murugadoss and starring Vijay. He thanked renowned filmmaker Mani Ratnam for his presence, noting that it was Ratnam’s classic film Thalapathi (1991) that inspired him to pursue a career in directing.

In a heartfelt tribute to Sivakarthikeyan, Periasamy remarked on the actor's journey from humble beginnings. He recounted, "Everyone is noticing how big Sivakarthikeyan has become. I know him from back when he was getting paid Rs 5000 for 2-3 shows. He was co-renting a small apartment with 9 guys." This acknowledgment underscores Sivakarthikeyan's hard work and dedication, as Periasamy praised him for remaining a true cinema enthusiast throughout his career.
