Actor Silambarasan TR, popularly known as Simbu, has officially announced his next project in collaboration with director Ashwath Marimuthu. The film, tentatively titled AGS 27, was revealed just two days after Simbu teased a project that would blend the elements of his past films Dum, Vallavan, and Manmadhan with contemporary Gen Z sensibilities.
The announcement came from AGS Entertainment, the production house behind the film, which released a poster featuring Simbu striking a signature pose reminiscent of his iconic role in Dum. This project marks the first time Simbu and AGS Entertainment will be working together, with the makers promising to bring back the vintage charm of Simbu on screen.
For Ashwath Marimuthu, this film will be his second collaboration with AGS Entertainment, following the ongoing production of Dragon, which stars Pradeep Ranganathan.
In the meantime, Simbu has recently completed dubbing for his portions in Thug Life, directed by the acclaimed duo Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam. He is also set to begin work on his 48th film with director Desingh Periyasamy. Simbu was last seen in Pathu Thala, directed by Obeli Krishna, where he starred alongside Gautham Karthik.
Details regarding the plot and the rest of the cast for AGS 27 are yet to be disclosed, generating excitement among fans eager for more information.
