Actor Sivakarthikeyan has made history with his latest film, Amaran, which has crossed the Rs 300 crore mark at the global box office. This makes Amaran his highest-grossing film, earning a total of Rs 301 crores worldwide within just 20 days of release. The film has collected Rs 224 crores domestically and Rs 77 crores from overseas markets. Despite competition from big releases like Suriya's Kanguva, Amaran has held a strong position at the box office, a testament to its widespread popularity.
Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, Amaran is a biographical action war film based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, whose story is adapted from the book series India's Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh. The success of Amaran has not only propelled Sivakarthikeyan to new heights in his career but also marked a significant achievement for actress Sai Pallavi and director Rajkumar Periasamy. It is now the second Tamil film after Thalapathy Vijay's The Greatest of All Time to cross the Rs 300 crore milestone in 2024, making it a major box office record for the year.
Amaran is produced by Raaj Kamal Films International and Sony Pictures Films India, and it continues to captivate audiences with its gripping story and powerful performances.
