Sivakarthikeyan’s cameo in Vijay’s recent release The Greatest of All Time (GOAT) became the talk of the town, particularly during a pre-climactic scene where Vijay passes a gun to Sivakarthikeyan to hold a villain hostage. Many fans interpreted this moment as Vijay symbolically passing the baton of Tamil cinema to Sivakarthikeyan.
The cameo sparked widespread discussion, and during the audio launch of Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming film Amaran, the anchor asked him about the significance of the gun passed by Vijay in the scene, or the luxury watch gifted by Vijay after the film's success. Sivakarthikeyan responded that more than material gifts, Vijay’s love and support were what truly mattered to him.
After the success of GOAT, which was directed by Venkat Prabhu, Vijay presented Sivakarthikeyan with a luxury watch as a gesture of appreciation for his role in the film.
Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming film Amaran, directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy, is based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, a late army officer. The story draws inspiration from Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh’s book India’s Most Fearless. The film, produced by Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International in association with Sony Pictures International Productions, is slated to release on October 31. It will compete at the box office with Jayam Ravi’s Brother and Kavin’s Bloody Beggar.
In addition to Amaran, Sivakarthikeyan is also working on an untitled project directed by AR Murugadoss, currently known as SK 23. The film features Rukmini Vasanth, Vikranth, and Vidyut Jammwal in key roles.
