With only two days remaining for the much-anticipated release of Kanguva, starring Suriya, the Tamil Nadu government has granted permission for special screenings of the film. The government has approved a 9 am special show on November 14, 2024, allowing early access for fans. While the filmmakers initially requested special screenings starting from 5 am, the government only permitted one special show at 9 am, with a limitation of five shows per day in Tamil Nadu theatres. The last show of the day must conclude by 2 am, and security and safety measures are mandated for smooth operations at the theatres.
Kanguva, directed by Siva, marks a significant milestone for Suriya and Disha Patani, as the actress makes her Tamil debut in this high-octane fantasy period action film. The film is set to be released in multiple languages, including a 3D and IMAX version, across 38 languages. It will be split into two parts, with a storyline spanning multiple time periods. Along with Suriya and Disha Patani, the film features an ensemble cast including Jagapathi Babu, Yogi Babu, Kovai Sarala, and others.
Produced by Studio Green and UV Creations, the film boasts a stellar technical team, with cinematography by Vetri Palanisamy and editing by the late Nishadh Yusuf. Art direction is handled by Milan Fernandez, also late, and dialogues are penned by Madhan Karky. The movie is expected to draw a large audience with its engaging plot and stunning visuals.
