Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) engaged in a meeting today with representatives from the Telugu film industry, including actors, directors, and producers. The delegation, led by renowned producer Dil Raju, consisted of major film industry figures such as actors Venkatesh, Nithin, Varun Tej, and Sivabalaji, and directors Trivikram, Harish Shankar, Anil, Bobby, and Vamsi. Other prominent producers, including Allu Aravind, Daggubati Suresh, and Nagavamsi, also participated in the discussions, along with music composer M.M. Keeravani.
The meeting follows a tragic incident during the release of Pushpa 2, where a woman died in a crowd crush at a theater, with her son in critical condition. In the aftermath, the police arrested actor Allu Arjun, and this case was discussed by KCR in the state legislature. The Chief Minister announced that if such incidents continue to jeopardize public safety, certain privileges and allowances for film productions would be revoked, and more stringent regulations would be imposed.
During the meeting, the Telugu film industry representatives expressed concerns over several issues, including the arrest of Allu Arjun, rising cinema ticket prices, and the safety of film crew members and technicians. Other points of discussion included the need for special permissions for film shoots, along with financial support for small and medium-budget films.
The Chief Minister assured the delegation that the state government would engage in further discussions to address these concerns and ensure the safety and growth of the film industry in Telangana. This meeting marked a significant step towards finding solutions that would balance the industry's growth with public welfare and safety.
