The teaser for Sarathkumar’s milestone 150th film, The Smile Man, was recently unveiled. In this gripping crime thriller, Sarathkumar plays the role of a retired police officer grappling with the early stages of Alzheimer's. His character is tasked with hunting down a copycat killer who leaves his victims in bizarre positions, their mouths stitched into twisted smiles. The film is directed by Syam and Praveen, based on a screenplay by Kamala Alchemis.
Earlier this year, the makers released a poster hinting at a potential dual role for Sarathkumar. In a previous interview, director Syam shared, "The Smile Man is a crime thriller where Sarath sir plays a retired police officer with early signs of Alzheimer's, who must solve a serial killer case before his memory deteriorates."
The film also features a talented supporting cast including Sija Rose, Ineya, George Maryan, Suresh Menon, Kumar Natarajan, and Aazhiya. The technical team behind the film includes cinematographer Vikram Mohan, composer Gavaskar Avinash, and editor San Lokesh. The Smile Man is produced by Salil Das, Anish Haridasan, and Anandan T. Although the teaser has sparked excitement, the release date for the film is yet to be announced.
