Vemal’s much-anticipated film Sir, directed by Bose Venkat, is gearing up for the release of its third single, "Padichukurom." The song will be launched on September 14 at 11 AM by renowned filmmaker Pandiraj. This follows the release of two earlier singles, "Panangarukka" and "Poovasanai," which were well-received.
Sir marks the second time Vemal plays the role of a teacher, his first being in the National Award-winning film Vaagai Sooda Vaa. The teaser, released a few weeks ago, introduced an intriguing plot where a man, possessed by a divine entity, attempts to earmark land meant for a school, causing tension as powerful figures seek to demolish the building. Vemal, as the school's teacher, opposes their efforts to protect the institution.
The film also features a supporting cast that includes Chaya Devi Kannan, Siraj S, Saravanan, Rama, and Jayabalan in significant roles. Initially titled Ma Po Si, the makers later renamed the project Sir to better reflect their vision for the film.
On the technical front, Sir boasts music by Siddhu Kumar, cinematography by Iniyan J Harish, and editing by Sreejith Sarang. The film is produced by Siraj S and Nilofer Siraj under the banner of SSS Pictures and is presented by acclaimed filmmaker Vetrimaaran through his Grass Root Film Company. The official release date is yet to be confirmed by the production team.
