TTF Vasan has publicly criticized the director of Manjal Veeran after news broke about his replacement as the film's male lead. The announcement, made during a press conference by the director, left Vasan feeling blindsided, especially since he had personally financed aspects of the film's pooja and photoshoot.
In a statement on social media, Vasan expressed his disbelief, saying, "I am not asking for the money back, but I deserve to know why I was removed from the project. I am shocked that the director made the announcement directly in a press meet." He raised concerns over the director's newfound collaboration with a different producer and questioned, "Who will play the lead now? If the director had a proper reason for the shakeup in the cast, I would have accepted it and moved out."
Director Chellam, however, explained that the decision stemmed from Vasan's inability to commit to the film’s demands, stating, "Vasan tends to stay busy with other commitments of his, which I don't think I can accommodate." He noted that they had managed to shoot 35 percent of the film without the male lead but could no longer adjust to Vasan's schedule.
Chellam confirmed that the announcement of a new male lead would be made later this month, leaving fans and industry watchers eager to see who will take on the role.
