The makers of Kudumbasthan, an upcoming film starring actor Manikandan and directed by Rajeshwar Kalisamy, released the first single from the movie titled "Zero Balance Hero" on Friday. The song captures the struggles of a middle-class family man who faces financial challenges, especially towards the end of the month. Composed and written by Vaisagh, the track is sung by Sean Roldan, bringing out the relatable and humorous essence of the character’s troubles.
Director Rajeshwar Kalisamy, known for his popular YouTube channel Nakkalites, previously described Kudumbasthan as a blend of the sensibilities of V. Shekhar films and the filmmaking style of Edgar Wright. In an earlier interview, he explained that the film revolves around a newly-married man who struggles to adjust to the responsibilities that come with married life. He emphasized that the film will resonate with young audiences, particularly those who are under 25 and not yet married, by replacing "wife" with "girlfriend" in the equation.
Along with Manikandan, the film also stars Saanve Megghana in the female lead role and Guru Somasundaram in a pivotal part. Backed by S Vinothkumar's Cinemaakaran banner, the technical team includes cinematographer Sujith Subramaniam, editor Kannan, and music composer Vaisagh. While the makers have not yet revealed a release date, the film is expected to cater to both young and mature audiences with its blend of humor and relatable life situations.
