Kaantha, a bilingual film in Telugu and Tamil, was announced last year and began production at Ramanaidu Studios in Hyderabad on Sunday. Starring Dulquer Salmaan and Rana Daggubati, the film is written and directed by Selvamani Selvaraj. This marks the first on-screen collaboration between Dulquer Salmaan and Rana Daggubati.
The announcement of their pairing has generated significant excitement among fans, especially as both actors enjoy a strong following across South India and in Hindi cinema. A photo from the film's pooja ceremony, showing both actors in traditional attire, recently went viral on social media.
Bhagyashri Borse has also joined the cast of Kaantha. In the ceremony photo, she is seen alongside Dulquer and Rana, dressed elegantly in an off-white saree with a golden blouse. Bhagyashri made her Tollywood debut with Ravi Teja in Mr Bachchan, which did not perform well at the box office. However, she is poised for a strong comeback, with a substantial role in Kaantha. Additionally, she is working on another Telugu film with Vijay Deverakonda and participated in the Vizag schedule for Gowtam Tinnanuri’s upcoming directorial.
