The much-anticipated family entertainer Funky, starring Vishwak Sen and directed by Anudeep KV, has officially launched with a pooja ceremony in Hyderabad. The event was graced by the cast and crew, including director Nag Ashwin, known for Kalki 2898 AD, who sounded the clapboard for the film. Director Kalyan Shankar switched on the camera, and producer S Naga Vamsi handed over the script to the team, marking the start of this exciting collaboration.
Funky promises to be an energetic blend of verbal humor, family dynamics, and fun, showcasing the unique strengths of Vishwak Sen as a performer and Anudeep's distinct comedic style. The poster, unveiled on the auspicious day of Ekadashi and Gita Jayanti, features a colorful design with the words "family entertainer" prominently displayed, hinting at the fun-filled ride the film offers.
This project is a reunion of sorts for Nag Ashwin and Anudeep, as Nag Ashwin previously produced the superhit Jathi Ratnalu, which was directed by Anudeep. The collaboration is expected to bring an engaging mix of laughter and entertainment to the screen.
In addition to Vishwak Sen and Anudeep, the film features Suresh Sarangam as the cinematographer and National Award-winning editor Navin Nooli. Bheems Ceciroleo, known for his popular tracks in Tillu Square and MAD, will compose the music for the film. Funky is slated to go on floors early next year, with Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya producing the film under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. The film will be presented by Srikara Studios.
