Prominent film producer KE Gnanavel Raja, who played a crucial role in distributing the Tamil versions of SS Rajamouli’s blockbuster films Baahubali 1 and Baahubali 2, has recently shed light on the future of the franchise. During a media interaction, Gnanavel revealed that Baahubali 3 is indeed in the planning stages, marking an exciting development for fans of the series.
Recalling a conversation with the filmmakers last week, he noted, "Baahubali 3 is in the planning stages. They did Baahubali 1 and 2 back-to-back, but they're now planning Baahubali 3 after a gap." This statement comes as a relief to fans who have been eagerly waiting for news on the franchise, especially given the absence of official updates from the makers for several years, which had led many to speculate that the project might have been shelved.
In addition to discussing Baahubali, Gnanavel Raja touched on the success of other franchise-based films such as Kalki, Salaar, and Singham, indicating that audiences tend to enjoy sequels more when there is a sufficient time gap between each installment. He is also producing the much-anticipated Kanguva, which stars Suriya. Meanwhile, SS Rajamouli's next film is tentatively titled SSRMB29 and features Mahesh Babu. As the excitement for Baahubali 3 builds, fans remain hopeful for more official announcements in the near future.
