After a four-year break, acclaimed filmmaker Sekhar Kammula is back with his next directorial, Kubera, which stars Dhanush in a gripping, high-stakes thriller. The film is produced jointly by Sri Venkateswara Cinemas and Amigo Creation. The first glimpse of Kubera sets the stage by introducing the primary characters and establishing the city of Mumbai as a gritty, sinister backdrop for this multi-layered story.
The teaser captivates with striking visuals of Mumbai, highlighting the city's raw, evocative essence, which adds depth to the film’s narrative. Dhanush’s character is initially shown as a desperate man in ragged clothes, emphasizing his rags-to-riches journey, and his transformation is teased in the final moments where he stands in front of a temple, sparking curiosity about his character arc.
In addition to Dhanush, the film features prominent actors such as Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, and Jim Sarbh in key roles. The technical team includes Niketh Bommi as the cinematographer, Thota Tharani as the production designer, and Karthika Srinivas as the editor. Kubera will release not only in Telugu but also in Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, and Kannada, making it a pan-Indian venture. While the release date is still to be revealed, the film’s exciting teaser and stellar team have raised anticipation for its arrival.
