On Saturday, renowned filmmaker Mani Ratnam unveiled the first look of the much-anticipated sci-fi thriller Kaliyugam 2064. Written and directed by Promod Sundar, the film is set to be released as a bilingual project, featuring Shraddha Srinath and Kishore in lead roles. The story is set in a futuristic world, delving into how humanity strives to survive against overwhelming adversities, with a strong focus on the mythological concept of Kali Yuga.
Ratnam expressed his support for the film, noting that it introduces a unique and intriguing concept, which he believes will resonate with audiences. The supporting cast includes Iniyan Subramani and Harry, while Don Vincent provides the musical score. Cinematography is by K Ram Charan, and Nimal handles the editing. The visual effects and CGI were completed in Norway, ensuring top-notch quality for the sci-fi adventure.
The film is produced by K S Ramakrishna under the banner of RK International and is set for a worldwide release, though an official date has yet to be announced. Shraddha Srinath, who plays a pivotal role in Kaliyugam 2064, is also preparing for the release of her upcoming film Mechanic Rocky, which is set to hit theatres on November 22.
