The Telugu film industry is gearing up for the release of Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi, a new-age drama featuring actor-director Tharun Bhascker and actress Eesha Rebba in the lead roles. The film, directed by newcomer Satya, has officially received a release date, bringing excitement among fans and cinephiles who have been following the project’s progress closely.
Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi is described as a layered, character-driven story that explores themes of love, inner peace, and self-discovery. The film marks a notable shift in tone for Tharun Bhascker, who is widely known for his work behind the camera in films such as Pelli Choopulu and Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi. In this film, he plays the male lead, returning to acting in a more prominent role. Eesha Rebba, known for her versatile performances in Telugu cinema, is cast opposite him, and their on-screen chemistry is expected to be a highlight of the film.
According to the production team, the film delves into the emotional complexities of modern relationships while offering a philosophical undertone that appeals to a wide audience. Set in urban and semi-urban backdrops, the film uses everyday situations to present deeper messages about life, peace, and purpose. The script reportedly weaves humor and drama with sensitivity, aiming to create a thoughtful yet entertaining cinematic experience.
The director, Satya, in his debut, is said to bring a fresh narrative style that blends realism with creative storytelling. The cinematography and music have also been designed to complement the film’s tone, with a soundtrack that enhances the mood and supports the introspective theme. The film's visuals are expected to be subtle yet impactful, helping to elevate the storytelling without relying on spectacle.
The supporting cast includes several emerging talents and seasoned actors, all contributing to a grounded and relatable ensemble. The film was shot across various locations in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and completed its production earlier this year. Post-production work has since been finalized, and the makers have now confirmed the theatrical release window.
While the exact release date is expected to be announced with the trailer launch, insiders suggest that the film is slated for release in the upcoming season, possibly aligned with a festival or long weekend. The producers have indicated that the film will be released in Telugu with potential plans for dubbed versions based on audience reception.
The announcement of the release has generated curiosity among film enthusiasts looking for content-driven cinema in the regional space. With its mix of emotional depth, artistic storytelling, and star appeal, Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi could emerge as a refreshing addition to Telugu cinema this year.
