Actor-politician Pawan Kalyan took to X (formerly Twitter) to extend his warm wishes to Vijay after the latter's significant political speech, marking his entry into the political arena. In his congratulatory message, Pawan wrote, “My Heartfelt Congratulations!! to Thiru, @actorvijay avl, for embarking on a political journey in Tamil Nadu, the land of Saints & Siddhars,” acknowledging the cultural and spiritual significance of the region.
During his speech, Vijay candidly addressed his decision to leave his thriving film career, stating, “I’ve thrown away my career at its peak; I have thrown away my remuneration. I am here as your Vijay. Let us walk with faith, let us walk with hope.” He emphasized the serious nature of politics, comparing it to a battlefield and noting the importance of approaching it with both seriousness and humor: “Whether it’s dealing with a snake or politics, if we decide to take it up with seriousness and a touch of humour, only then can we endure and handle opponents.”
Vijay also laid out the foundational principles of his political party, TVK (Tamilaga Vazhvu Katchi), asserting, "No compromise in our political war. We will not take hatred politics into our hands." He highlighted key ideals such as secular social justice, state autonomy, inclusiveness, a two-language policy, anti-corruption measures, a rejection of regressive ideas, and a commitment to a drug-free Tamil Nadu.
The announcement of both actors entering politics at the height of their cinematic careers has sparked considerable interest and comparison among fans, with many expressing excitement about their political journeys.
