The highly anticipated film Fauji has commenced shooting in Madurai, following its grand launch in Hyderabad last month. Though Prabhas, who plays the lead role of a soldier, has yet to join the set, director Hanu Raghavapudi has started filming scenes with the supporting cast. Prabhas is currently preparing for the role and is expected to return for the next shooting schedule in Hyderabad.
This marks the first time Prabhas will portray a soldier, a character design that deeply impressed him. The film is set in the 1940s and tells a compelling historical fiction story. The filmmakers have described Fauji as a tale of a warrior who rose from the shadows, fighting to bring justice to his people. The story explores themes of war, forgotten truths, and buried injustices, with the protagonist redefining what it means to fight for one's homeland.
The film's poster, revealed during the launch, captivated audiences with the tagline: "When wars were a battle for supremacy, ONE WARRIOR redefined what they were FOUGHT for." Actress Imanvi is one of the leading ladies in the film, adding to the excitement surrounding the project.
