Since making his iconic debut in 2021, Allu Arjun’s character Pushparaj has become an unstoppable force in Indian cinema. With Pushpa 2: The Rise, the actor has taken his on-screen persona to new heights, combining over-the-top action with a unique vulnerability that has resonated with audiences globally. The film has shattered box office records, grossing a massive Rs 800.5 crore worldwide, including Rs 529 crore from India alone (Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions).
The film’s opening was nothing short of spectacular, earning a staggering Rs 164.25 crore on its release day—surpassing opening numbers from major films like Stree 2 (Rs 51.8 crore), Animal (Rs 63.8 crore), Jawan (Rs 75 crore), KGF: Chapter 2 (Rs 116 crore), and even Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Rs 121 crore).
However, the film did see a decline on Day 2, grossing Rs 93.8 crore, but it rebounded strongly over the weekend, bringing in Rs 119.25 crore on Saturday and Rs 141.5 crore on Sunday. Pushpa 2 has been a huge hit, especially in Hindi-speaking regions, where it earned Rs 285.7 crore, surpassing the Telugu version’s earnings of Rs 197.7 crore. On Sunday, the film also became the first Hindi film to earn Rs 85 crore in a single day.
Remarkably, Pushpa 2 has already surpassed the lifetime collection of its predecessor, Pushpa: The Rise (Rs 267.55 crore), in just three days. With its immense popularity and continuing success, the film is expected to cross Rs 1000 crore globally by the end of its first week. Despite mixed reviews from critics, Pushpa 2: The Rise's remarkable box-office performance speaks volumes about its universal appeal and the enduring power of Allu Arjun’s character.
