Ram Gopal Varma is gearing up to release his latest production, Saaree, a psychological thriller that’s scheduled for a December 20 release. Produced under the RGV-AARVI Productions banner, Saaree aims to tackle the unsettling realities of modern relationships, drawing inspiration from real-life events. The film offers a gritty exploration of how social media platforms like Instagram can sometimes blur lines, leading people, especially young women, into relationships that may carry hidden dangers. Ram Gopal Varma elaborates, “Today’s social media landscape can make it easy to fall into unhealthy relationships without fully understanding the risks. Saaree addresses how obsession and attraction can turn dark, sometimes with devastating consequences. The film serves as a cautionary tale to alert young audiences about the importance of discernment.”
The film stars newcomer Aaradhya Devi, who makes her debut in Saaree. The production team recently launched the first single, “I Want You,” which features Aaradhya in a gripping and intense music video, setting the tone for the film’s deeper themes. Aaradhya’s character is central to the story, portraying the emotional and psychological journey of a young woman navigating complex relationships in today’s digitally connected world.
In addition to its release in Telugu, Saaree will be available in multiple languages, including Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam, expanding its reach to a broader audience. For its Telugu release, well-known distributor Mutyala Ramdas, representing Venkata Sai Films, has acquired the distribution rights, indicating high expectations for the film’s reception.
Through Saaree, Varma not only continues his exploration of psychological narratives but also brings to the forefront relevant societal issues, presenting them in his unique cinematic style. The anticipation is high for how this latest work will resonate with audiences, especially given the provocative themes and bold storytelling that Saaree promises to deliver.
