The production team of Majaka, featuring Sundeep Kishan in the lead role, announced on Saturday that Ritu Varma will star as the female lead in the film. The announcement was made through a lighthearted video featuring the two actors on set, inspired by a popular Chinese meme depicting a husband's humorous evasion of his wife's slap. This fun reveal comes shortly after the film’s title announcement, though a specific release date is still pending. However, sources suggest that the team is aiming for a Sankranti release.
In their announcement, the production house expressed excitement over Ritu Varma's casting, stating, “Welcome the super talented Ritu Varma on board as our Leading Lady. The fresh pairing of People's Star Sundeep Kishan and Ritu Varma is the Heart of Majaka."
Directed by Thrinadha Rao Nakkina, who has previously directed successful films like Nenu Local (2017) starring Nani and Dhamaka (2022) featuring Ravi Teja, Majaka marks his first collaboration with Sundeep Kishan. The film is being produced by Razesh Danda under the banners of AK Entertainment and Hasya Movies.
Alongside Sundeep Kishan and Ritu Varma, the cast includes Rao Ramesh and Anshu Ambani, who is making a return to the screen after 20 years since her notable role in the classic Nagarjuna film Manmadhudu. The film's music will be composed by Leon James, and cinematography is handled by Nizar Shafi. Further details about the project are expected to be revealed soon.
