Delhi Police Special Cell has uncovered an alleged terror-linked network that investigators claim was connected to Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI. The development came after the arrest of nine suspected operatives during a coordinated operation conducted across multiple states under the initiative named ‘Gang Bust Operation 2.0’.
According to investigators, the accused were allegedly linked to the Shahzad Bhatti module and were suspected of planning attacks on several sensitive locations in northern India. Among the locations reportedly identified as potential targets were a historic temple in Delhi, a popular roadside dhaba on the Delhi-Sonipat highway, and a military camp in Haryana.
Officials stated that the alleged conspiracy came to light during the interrogation of the arrested suspects. Investigators reportedly found evidence suggesting that one of the accused had carried out reconnaissance activities at a historic temple in Delhi. Authorities claim photographs and information related to the premises were shared with handlers believed to be operating from Pakistan through social media platforms.
Security agencies are also examining whether other public places and sensitive installations were under surveillance as part of the alleged network’s activities. Sources said investigators are analyzing digital evidence, communication records, and travel details linked to the accused individuals.
The arrests were made from multiple states after months of surveillance and intelligence gathering by the Delhi Police Special Cell. Officials involved in the operation stated that the investigation remains ongoing and additional arrests cannot be ruled out.
According to police sources, the operation was launched to identify and dismantle organized criminal and extremist networks operating across state borders. The suspects are currently being questioned regarding their alleged contacts, financial transactions, and communication with foreign handlers.
