As several regions across India continue to experience severe heatwave conditions, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged citizens to remain cautious and follow important safety measures to protect themselves and others from extreme temperatures.

In his public appeal, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of staying hydrated and avoiding prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, especially during peak afternoon hours. He advised people to drink sufficient water regularly and pay close attention to the health of elderly family members, children, and individuals with existing medical conditions who may be more vulnerable to heat-related illnesses.

The Prime Minister also encouraged citizens to extend support to others during the heatwave by offering drinking water to workers, travelers, and people in need. He highlighted the importance of community responsibility during extreme weather conditions and appealed to people to help those who may not have easy access to clean drinking water.

In addition to human safety, Narendra Modi called upon citizens to care for birds and animals affected by the intense summer heat. He requested people to place bowls of water outside their homes, balconies, and public spaces so that birds and stray animals can access water during the hot weather conditions.

India has been witnessing rising temperatures in several states over the past few weeks, with many regions recording temperatures above seasonal averages. The India Meteorological Department has issued heatwave alerts for multiple states and advised people to avoid outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day.

Medical experts have also warned that prolonged exposure to high temperatures can lead to dehydration, heat exhaustion, and heatstroke. Common symptoms include dizziness, fatigue, headaches, nausea, and excessive sweating. Health authorities have advised people to wear light-colored clothing, consume fluids regularly, and avoid physical exertion during extreme heat conditions.

Several state governments and local administrations have already initiated measures to address the impact of the heatwave. Temporary drinking water facilities, public awareness campaigns, and emergency medical support systems are being arranged in vulnerable regions. Schools in some states have also revised schedules or announced precautionary measures to protect students from excessive heat exposure.

Environmental experts have noted that recurring heatwaves in India highlight the growing challenges associated with climate change and rising global temperatures. Urban areas, in particular, face higher heat intensity due to concrete infrastructure, traffic congestion, and reduced green cover.

Citizens across different parts of the country have responded positively to the Prime Minister’s appeal, with many social organizations and volunteers participating in efforts to distribute water and support vulnerable communities during the heatwave.

Authorities continue to monitor the weather situation closely and have urged the public to follow official advisories issued by health and disaster management departments. Experts believe that public awareness and preventive measures remain essential to reducing health risks during extreme summer conditions.

As temperatures remain high in many regions, officials are expected to continue issuing advisories and taking precautionary steps to minimize the impact of the ongoing heatwave across the country.
