Kathua, Jammu & Kashmir:
Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the Border Security Force’s (BSF) forward outpost named ‘Vinay’ in the Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir earlier today. The visit is part of his two-day tour of the region aimed at reviewing the security situation and assessing preparedness along the international border.
During his visit to the border post, Shah interacted with BSF jawans, commended their dedication to duty, and assured them of the central government's continued support in strengthening the nation’s border infrastructure. He was briefed by senior BSF officials about the operational challenges faced in the region and the strategic significance of the Kathua sector.
The Home Minister emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of the security forces stationed in high-risk border zones. He also reviewed the surveillance and patrolling mechanisms in place and discussed the need for further technological upgrades to improve monitoring capabilities in sensitive areas.
Shah praised the courage and commitment of the BSF personnel who work tirelessly under harsh conditions to secure the country’s borders. “The nation is proud of our brave jawans. Their selfless service is the reason why citizens can live in peace,” Shah stated while addressing the troops.
Officials said that the visit is also part of a broader initiative by the Ministry of Home Affairs to enhance coordination between central forces and local administration in border districts. Sources also indicated that the Home Minister is likely to hold security review meetings with top officials in the Jammu region later today.
The visit gains significance amid increased focus on border security due to evolving geopolitical scenarios. The Ministry of Home Affairs has been prioritizing infrastructure development, better living conditions for soldiers, and advanced surveillance systems to ensure national security.
Shah’s interaction with BSF personnel was seen as a morale booster, reaffirming the government’s recognition of their role in maintaining peace and stability along India’s frontiers.
