India has supplied a fresh consignment of 7000 tonnes of diesel to Bangladesh through the India Bangladesh Friendship Pipeline, strengthening energy cooperation between the two neighbouring countries. The fuel supply is part of ongoing efforts to support Bangladesh’s energy requirements, particularly during a period of global uncertainty in fuel markets.
The diesel shipment originated from the Numaligarh refinery in India and began reaching Bangladesh recently. Officials have indicated that the delivery is expected to be completed within a short period. Bangladesh’s Energy Minister Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku addressed the issue in Parliament, stating that the primary concern in the country is not a shortage of fuel but instances of hoarding.
