In their joint declaration, the ministers reaffirmed their shared resolve to combat terrorism through enhanced intelligence sharing, improved coordination between law enforcement agencies, and strict enforcement of international laws against terror financing.

The Foreign Ministers of the Quad — India, the United States, Japan, and Australia — have issued a joint statement condemning the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The ministers expressed their deep sorrow over the incident and extended condolences to the victims and their families. They stressed the need for immediate action to identify and bring to justice those responsible for orchestrating and supporting the attack.

The Pahalgam attack, which resulted in casualties and injuries, has drawn strong global reactions. The Quad Foreign Ministers emphasized that terrorism in any form poses a direct threat to international peace and security. They called upon all nations to work together to eliminate terrorist networks and hold accountable those who plan, support, or finance such violence.

In their joint declaration, the ministers reaffirmed their shared resolve to combat terrorism through enhanced intelligence sharing, improved coordination between law enforcement agencies, and strict enforcement of international laws against terror financing. They also urged countries to fulfill their international obligations to prevent the use of their territories for terrorist activities.

The statement highlighted the importance of collective responsibility and global partnerships in addressing cross-border terrorism. The ministers underscored that the attack in Pahalgam is a reminder of the persistent threat posed by extremist groups operating across regions and borders. They reiterated their commitment to supporting India in its efforts to counter terrorism and strengthen internal security.

The Quad also reiterated its vision for a free, open, and inclusive Indo-Pacific region, emphasizing that peace and stability are essential for economic growth and democratic development. In this context, the ministers noted that acts of terrorism undermine regional cooperation and threaten the safety of civilians.

India, which hosted the recent Quad Foreign Ministers’ meeting, welcomed the strong statement of solidarity from its Quad partners. Indian officials have assured that all necessary measures are being taken to investigate the Pahalgam incident thoroughly and to neutralize those responsible. Security operations in the region have been intensified, with additional forces deployed to prevent further attacks.

The Quad members also discussed the need to strengthen international mechanisms for tracking terror financing, especially in cases where state and non-state actors work together to support violent extremism. They emphasized the need for strong action against those who provide logistical or financial support to terror groups.

Analysts believe that the strong reaction from the Quad reflects a growing global consensus on the need for coordinated efforts to counter terrorism. The joint statement is seen as a signal to both state and non-state actors that the international community will not tolerate acts of violence aimed at destabilizing regions or harming innocent civilians.

As investigations into the Pahalgam attack continue, the support from international allies such as the Quad is expected to reinforce India’s efforts to maintain internal security and pursue justice for the victims of terrorism.

The joint statement is seen as a signal to both state and non-state actors that the international community will not tolerate acts of violence aimed at destabilizing regions or harming innocent civilians.
